CHAUD @ Fonderie Darling, Montreal

A. Livingstone makes things / actions / relations often in situ, often in collaboration

A body of work trembling on display considering choreography for a co- creation of refuge.

A blush of intensities, a recovery process,

resituating,

like an animal finding it’s place for the night.

*

Self taught,  Livingstone is motivated by  queer somatic  needs and  intersectional methods, finding form at the frontiers of performance and site specific installation, conceiving immersive encounters between performers, public, and places.

By means of improvisation, and tactical patterned puzzles , a constructing and  deconstructing of habitat are signature to the work. Breaching something and bridging something else, often in intimate companionship with materials, animals, architecture.

As a performer, creator, or coach, the research and performance installation work operates from studio base in Berlin and diverse urban and rural contexts internationally with :

an affection for the makeshift,  an intimacy with the elements, the insight of an outsider

Born on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh(Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-waututh)  peoples.

Post -Canadian, living nomadically, A.Livingstone acknowledges the contemporary and original caretaker kin of the land, creatures, air and waters, living together between  Emergency and Deep Time.
